The Shin-Keisei Electric Railway Company will hold the Shin-Keisei Thank You Festival in Kunugiyama on Saturday, June 3, 2017. This event is put on every year so we can continue to build a great relationship with our customers who use the Shin-Keisei trains on a daily basis. Every year, the festival turns out to be a grand event, with more than 7,000 guests attending in some years.
This year, sumo wrestlers from Asahiyama Sumo Stable in Kamagaya City will be participating in the festival and selling the traditional sumo power food called “chanko nabe,” a kind of hotpot packed with different kinds of vegetables and meat. Additionally, there will be a kid’s play corner set up with a “Plarail” toy train set, food stalls from restaurants located in the four cities along Shin-Keisei line, and merchandise booths operated by nine other railway companies. (Note: Numbered tickets for the play corner will be handed out at the festival). You will also have the chance to take pictures in all the different train models, see the train machinery exhibition, and enjoy other activities that are popular every year.
The festival is held in the train rail yard that is normally closed to the public, so this is a rare opportunity to go inside. There is no need to register for the event – just come straight to the festival! We hope it will be fun day for everyone, from families to hardcore railroad fans.
